You may be asking yourself who is this guy? (and then again you may not). Well in brief I'm nobody and everybody. I'm just like you. Maybe a little older or not. Maybe smarter, dumber or just the same. The point is that I enjoy computers, the internet and networking in general. My background? Well I'll attempt to be brief (but it's hard cause I'm a bit of an ego maniac). I was born in Brooklyn New York in 1958 on Friday the 13th. You probably don't need or care about the month unless you plan to celebrate it with me (send cash not presents -ha ha). I left New York in 1977 and enlisted in the United States Air Force. where I tried my hand at a number of things. Explosive Ordinance Disposal (Military equivalent of a police bomb squad). But don't ask about how to create any explosives cause I wont tell you. There is enough of that crap floating around the net as it is and it makes me sick. What I know will go to the grave with me. Air Force Presidential Honor Guard, which can be one of the most rewarding experiences a person can have. The Air Force Drill Team (yes they have one and it's the nearest thing to being a celebrity that any normal person can have.) Custodial Flight Chief (which spells Security Police in any other language) for a remote site in Turkey. Lastly but not least a Special Agent for (OSI) and there was no BIONIC Man. (for all of you to young to recognize this reference ask your parents). From there I went to the District of Columbia Department of Corrections, with a short stint as an Automotive Technician ( which reads Mechanic), in between. I was a Correctional Officer from 1988 until 1999. I worked at the Maximum Security Facility at the District's Lorton Reservation (which reads as Hell). Anyone in the U.S. particularly on the East Coast should know what I mean. Anyone visiting from anywhere else can follow this link to the Washington Post web site and search their archives for articles. During my time as a Correctional Officer I purchased my first real Computer (which I took apart, analyzed and restored because I had to, having been a mechanic and having an unquenchable desire to know how things work), taught myself Microsoft's version of DOS, learned to do Windows (which reads "wish I was a Macintosh") learned about Networking (which reads Novell) and developed what has for the most part begun my life's obsession with the computer. I have trained and become certified in Novell, and NT (which reads "wish I was Novell"). In August of this year I made what is my third (and everyone associated with me hopes my last) career transition when I left the District of Columbia Department of Corrections for a position as a System Support Analyst (which reads "Help Desk") at the Marriott Corporate Headquarters in Bethesda Maryland. Although it's not the best position anyone that knows this field is aware that the hardest job to secure is the first one. The door has opened, I've stepped in and lookout because here I come........ The saga continues Steve
